Simple Chocolate and Dessert Recipes

Baking is hard for many people, as a result boxed cake mixes are the most popular form of homemade cake eaten anywhere. The boxed cake mixes aren¡¯t bad actually, they contain many of the same ingredients as the best chocolate and dessert recipes would call for with out the work.

Chocolate is a common item in dessert recipes; chocolate can be somewhat hard to work with. Melted chocolate and desert recipes are some of the most common combinations. Many of these recipes will call for the chocolate to be melted in a double boiler.

To set up a double boiler a heat proof bowl (preferably glass) and a sauce pan that the bowl will fit into the top of without touching the bottom are needed. Simply boil the water then once it is boiling place the bowl of chocolate pieces on the top of the pan, stir the chocolate constantly until smooth.

To prepare the chocolate for melting in most chocolate and dessert recipes the chocolate needs to be cut into small pieces much the size of chocolate chips. In that case if chocolate chips can be used, they will cut down the labor intensity of the recipe.

Chunk Chocolate And Desert Recipe

Chunk chocolate and desert recipes are a winning combination. It can be fun to add chunks of good chocolate in place of ordinary chocolate chips for a fun addition to a classic cookie or cake recipe. The chunks of chocolate can add a new element of chocolate texture and flavor to a familiar recipe.

Oatmeal cookies are easy to make and tasty, for chunk chocolate and desert recipe twist, make no-bake cookies instead of traditional chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. The no-bake recipe calls for three cups of quick cooking oats, two cups of granulated sugar, one third of a cup of coco powder (unsweetened), one third of a cup milk, one stick of unsalted butter, and one and a half cups of any (favorite) chocolate cut in chunks.

For this chocolate dessert recipe, begin by preparing two cookie sheets with aluminum foil and set aside. Next simply melt the butter in the milk over medium heat, while the milk and butter are melting combine the sugar and coco powder in a small bowl and measure the oats into a large heat proof bowl.

The last step of this chocolate desert recipe is to add the coco and sugar mixture to the milk and butter, cook for three minutes (at a rolling boil). Remove from heat and mix into oats; after thoroughly combined fold in the chocolate chunks. Spoon rounded tablespoons onto prepared cookie sheets, allow cooling fully. Eat and enjoy! These store best at room temperature air tight.
