How to Choose the Right Cooking Recipes for Dinner Parties

You enjoy giving dinner parties, but lately have decided that rather than hiring a professional caterer, you would like to make the dinner yourself. However, there is much planning that needs to be done for your next dinner party, and part of the planning involves choosing the right cooking recipes.

About Cooking Recipes

The first thing you need to think about when it comes to selecting the right cooking recipes for a dinner party is how formal the dinner party will be. Generally the more formal a dinner party is, the more courses there are. Will this be a dinner party that involves people from your work? Or will it be a dinner party with just friends?

You can minimize stress by sticking to cooking recipes that involve an appetizer, a soup or salad, the main course, and the dessert. When it comes to an appetizer, choose something that will not be too filling, but at the same time goes well with a wine. For example, if you like Greek Cuisine, consider making a smaller variation of Spinach Pie, also known as Spanakopita.

There are several basic ingredients that you will need when making Spanakopita. These ingredients include a considerable amount of spinach, feta cheese, and Filo dough. Filo dough is light and flaky, so it is important to handle each sheet of Filo dough with care. Once the ingredients have been assembled, place them in small sections of the Filo dough and bake them, thus resulting in a nice appetizer.

When it comes to the salad, little preparation is needed. Make it a salad bar, in which people can pick and choose what they want to put in their salad. When it comes to the soup, be sure that it is one that fits in with each person¡¯s dietary requirements. However, if your guests are not especially health-conscious, they might like something such as Cream of Broccoli soup.

The main course cooking recipes that you have to choose from all have to do with the amount of time your have to cook, as well as your cooking experience. Try a dish that includes steamed vegetables, and let your guests have the option of seasoning the vegetables themselves.

For more information on cooking recipes for dinner parties, purchase a cooking magazine at your local bookstore. Or, you can watch various cooking shows. Magazines and cooking shows have many different recipes that are sure to please your dinner guests!
