The Symptoms Of Celiac Disease You Should Know About

It is possible that your doctor may mistake your symptoms of celiac disease for anemia. This is because food allergies do not set off alarm bells for doctors. Instead they just think that it is something else. Nevertheless many doctors now believe that wheat intolerance is responsible for a lot of people's poor health.

Why The Symptoms Of Celiac Disease May Be Mistaken For Anemia

Anemia is a condition wherein you do not have a sufficient amount of robust red blood cells to carry enough oxygen to supply your body with what it needs to function properly. The symptoms of anemia include the following and are similar to symptoms of celiac disease: headaches; cognitive difficulties; chest pains; an irregular or speedy heartbeat; lethargy; coldness and/or numbness in your hands and feet; dizziness; shortness of breath and pale skin.

If you complain to a doctor that you are suffering from these symptoms of celiac disease they may think that you are anemic. However, this does not mean that if you are feeling any of these symptoms of celiac disease that you should not tell your doctor. They do need to know so that they can figure out if you are anemic or not. If you are not anemic then you need to have a test done to see if you do have celiac disease.

Something else that you may want to consider is whether or not any of your other family members suffer from the symptoms of celiac disease. If anyone in your family has already been diagnosed with this disease, then there is a good chance that you may have the condition as well.

If all of this seems to be quite confusing to you, then you really should take some time to look around the Internet. There are a lot of excellent resources available about the symptoms of celiac disease. This information should help you to be able to figure out what is going on with your health. However, you should never replace your doctor's advice with that which you find on the Internet.

Until you are able to figure out what is going on, you should try to eat only fresh healthy foods like raw vegetables. You should also try to eat less processed foods as well. Plus, it is a good idea to cut out any and all wheat that you are eating for a few weeks in order to see if your symptoms of celiac disease disappear. If your symptoms of celiac disease do diminish or disappear, then you more than likely have celiac disease and should consult your doctor.
