Tofu Oyako is an action figurine collection series that has taken the Japanese market by storm. He may not look like the average action figurine; however he is certainly taken the Vegan ¨C and non-Vegan ¨C world by storm! Tofu Oyako stands around 3 inches tall and comes in a variety of different forms and themes including bears, dolls, people, and novelty toys, however all types has the traditional block head (or ¡°tofu¡± head). Tofu Oyako comes in a variety of forms including plush toys, plastic figurines, boxes, bags, key rings and stickers, which are ever growing with his popularity.
How Tofu Oyako Was Born
Tofu Oyako was manufactured by a company called Devilrobots in Tokyo in 1997. The company was established by Shinichro Kitai (Art Director), Kenji Saito (Creative Director) and Seiko Kato, with Yoshinzo Yoshimura (Creative Director) and Takeshi Ikegami (Designer) joining the company when it became limited in 2000. The group of designers created Tofu Oyako who became popular, particularly in the Japanese market by 2002. They also well known for their character ¡°Evirob¡±, developed in 2001. The Future of Tofu Oyako
As Tofu Oyako spreads further to the Western countries, it is possible that so too will the use of tofu and related Vegan meat substitutes as an every day meal alternative.
