Cooking steak can be a wonderful treat for family and friends. There are so many different types of steak, and each cook will probably have some favorite cuts. Some cooks will choose to have a sirloin cut because these cuts are tender, juicy and usually a great entr¨Ĥe for a special meal. The person in charge of the meal might decide that cooking steak should start with rib eye steak which is a cut that provides a tasty meal for all those at the table. Chateaubriand steak is a favorite for those who are cooking steak for two. This cut is a very tasty piece of meat.

Those cooks who decide that cooking steak is a great idea for the next meal will want to confer with the diners to see how they would like their steak done by the chef. Some people want their steak very rare, and this type of order will result in very pink meat in the middle of the steak when it is ready to serve. Those diners who like their steak medium rare will end up with a steak that is brown on the outside and red on the inside. Those diners who like their steaks well done will be served a piece of meat that is completely brown inside and out.

Different Methods Can Be Used When Cooking Steak

Cooking steak can be done inside or outside depending on the weather and the available facilities. Those cooks who are intent on cooking steak outdoors will probably have a fine grill for the job. There are gas grills that can be used although many people like to have a steak grilled over charcoal. The later method gives a very special taste to the meat. Cooking steak is often done inside under a broiler or in a frying pan. Some people use certain types of steak ground into hamburgers.

Many people immediately think of beef when the word steak is mentioned, but there are other types of steak that can make delicious meals. There are fish steaks that are often very nutritious and great for those on a diet. Lamb steaks are also very delicious when prepared by a talented cook, and these often have less fat than the beef steaks. Cooking steak for a group of family and friends is often a welcome venture whether the steak is fish, beef or lamb. The preparation can make a significant difference in the taste of a steak.
